Cyberware is any electronic device permanently implanted into the body. Cyberware typically conflicts with magic, though magitech cyberware can be modified to conduct magic. Cyberware is fully mechanical, while bioware is biological and grown in a lab.
Brain Implants
Typically called a "brainpiece", a brain implant allows the user to mentally interface with electronic devices, such as commlinks. Dialers, while more primitive, act as a filter between the brain and the nervous system. Dialers can block or amplify neurotransmitters, resulting in a fine control of one's emotions and feelings.
Facial Implants
The most common type of facial implant is the cybereye. Cybereyes are mechanical replacements for the eyeball. Cybereyes are more reliable and precise than eyeballs. Cybereyes also function as cameras, and can interface with digital devices.
Other types of facial implants include cybertongues, cyberears, and expressors.
Limb Implants
Cyberlimbs are the most common type of cyberware. They bring enhanced mobility and durability to one's limbs. Cyberlimbs may also be modified to bring new functionality to the limb, such as integrated tools, electronic compatibility, implanted weaponry, etc.. Experimental cyberlimbs may add entirely new wings to the body, such as wings or tails.
Body Implants
Body implants include replacement organs, nervous system enhancements, and skin replacements. In areas with high crime rates, dermal armor implants are very common. Nervous system enhancements, such as fiber nerves, are rare and expensive, but are often applied in defense industries.
